Samantha Richardson

Samantha Richardson is a manager of professional learning for STEP Literacy at UChicago Impact. Richardson provides strategic support in the administration, implementation, and coaching of staff for schools using the STEP Literacy Assessment system. She plays an integral role in ensuring that STEP is implemented reliably, rigorously, and to its fullest potential, by providing data-driven literacy coaching focused on increasing teacher knowledge and student performance.

Prior to joining UEI, Richardson served as an elementary classroom teacher before transitioning into the role of a pre-K to third grade literacy coach. Richardson has also taught as an adjunct instructor at National Louis University, in courses that support current classroom teachers to hone their practice of teaching beginning readers.

Richardson received her BA in elementary education from the University of Maryland and her M.Ed in instructional leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a certified reading specialist and has received Reading Recovery certification from National Louis University.
