Leticia Cantu is a STEP Manager of Professional Learning K-2. In this role, she provides strategic support in the administration, implementation, and coaching of staff for schools using English and Spanish STEP. She also collaborates on the continued improvement of STEP Professional Learning, including resources and training.
For over 15 years, Leticia has served in various bilingual special education roles with a focus on reading development to support bilingual students. She has also served as a Response to Intervention (RTI) Director, Educational Diagnostician, and trainer for teachers in Spanish and English literacy instruction. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Leadership from Judson University and an MA Ed. in Special Education from Northern Illinois University. She also holds a Level II certification in Bilingual Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago's Monarch Center.
I chose to work in education because of my passion for supporting students that struggle in reading when learning a second language and to support students with disabilities.
