Leticia Cantu
Leticia is the Director of STEP Español Professional Learning. In this role she leads the Spanish literacy work and collaborates to continue the improvement of STEP Professional Learning resources for schools. Leticia has served in various bilingual & special education roles with a focus on struggling readers to support biliteracy. Previous roles include: Response to Intervention (RTI) Director (K-8), Bilingual Educational Diagnostician (PreK – 21), and Associate of Neuro Psychological & Educational Evaluations (PreK- Adult) in both private practice & public education.
Leticia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management/Leadership from Judson University, a Master's in Special Education from Northern Illinois University, and a Level II certification in Bilingual Special Education from the University of Illinois.
I chose to work in education because of my passion for supporting students that struggle in reading when learning a second language and to support students with disabilities.
